I would love to take a moment to introduce you to someone who has become very special to me.
I don’t know if you feel this way, but I don’t always recognize life changing events at first.
If you and I have been friends for a few years, you have seen me struggle with how to best bring my calling to marry philanthropy and business to the World.
The invitations didn’t make sense. I knew I was being called to speak about philanthropy and purpose, yet people around me were always struggling in the money conversation.
I wasn’t sure how to bridge the gap, and kept feeling like I was missing something.
And then I was introduced to Lynne Twist.
We came together originally in a conversation about how to bring the work of The Pachamama Alliance to business, so my focus was there for most of our conversations over the last two years.
As I was re-reading her incredible book, The Soul of Money, I was inspired at a whole new level by this incredible woman’s legacy.
This humble woman, who has worked side-by-side with luminaries like Mother Teresa, the Dalai Lama, and many, many more, had me realize that she had already blazed the trail for anything I might dream possible.
While leading over 200,000 volunteers, Lynne has been instrumental in changing the face of poverty on the Planet, first with The Hunger Project, and then with The Pachamama Alliance.
I have learned so many lessons from her including, but not limited to:
It is not up to any one of us to create the solution and none of us can do our work alone; and
Only by supporting each other and allowing ourselves to be supported, do we have any chance at achieving our goals.
Let me encourage you to head over to Amazon and get your own copy of Lynne’s life changing book, The Soul of Money.
It will be one of the most important books you will ever read, and you will never see yourself the same again.
